Scully: Well, they’re trying everything they can think of. Experimental drugs, plasma transfusion…
Doggett: None of that’s going to work.
Dr Rietz: Why not?
Doggett: Because they’re treating the symptoms not the cause.
Scully: What do you have, John?
Doggett: One big question. Why the Brady Bunch? Seriously, you two are fans. Why are people still watching a 30-year-old TV show?
Reyes: Because they’re the family everyone wishes they had. Loving parents, lots of brothers and sisters, everybody getting along.
Scully: They’re the perfect family. And since Oliver didn’t have one as a child he… created one.

Scully: Dra. Dana Scully. Acabo de ser asignada a la Academia como investigadora forense. Durante los últimos 8 años formé parte de una unidad conocida como los Expedientes X (ligeras risas). Posiblemente algunos de ustedes hayan oído hablar de ellos.

Cadete: ¿Mató algún vampiro? – más risas-.

Scully: Siento decepcionarte, pero éste es un curso de patología forense. Ciencia exacta. Un Expediente X es un caso que ha sido considerado por el Bureau como sin resolver, porque dicho caso no puede ser resuelto sin que dé lugar a otras explicaciones… un vampiro, quizá. Sin embargo, la ciencia nos dice que la maldad no proviene de los monstruos, sino de los hombres. Nos ofrece la metodología para atrapar a esos hombres, y sólo después de haber agotado estos métodos, debemos dejar atrás la ciencia para considerar – hace una pausa- posibilidades más extremas.

Feliz Día del Maestro a Scully… y a las personas que ejercen con verdadero interés y cariño esta profesión. – Ah… al menos hoy se festeja en México por eso lo comento jiji.

Mulder: I know what you want and I can’t give it to you.
Scully: Make them a deal, Mulder. Guilty on a lesser charge. Maybe they’ll go for it and they’ll let you walk out of here.
Mulder: I’d rather die, Scully.
Scully: How can you say that? How can you say that, Mulder, to me?
Mulder: Because this is greater than you or me. This is about everything we worked for for nine years. The truth that we both sacrificed so much to uncover and to expose.
Scully: Well, then, expose it, Mulder! Take the stand. Whatever it is that you’re withholding take the stand and hit them full force.
Mulder: I can’t.
Scully: Why?
Mulder: I just can’t.
Scully: You say this is greater than us, and maybe it is, but this is us fighting this fight, Mulder, not you. It’s you and me. That’s what I’m fighting for, Mulder. You and me.

Mulder: Sé lo que quieres y no te lo puedo dar.
Scully: Haz trato con ellos, Mulder. Culpable en un cargo menor. Quizá se vayan por ahí y te dejarán salir de aquí.
Mulder: Prefiero morir Scully.
Scully: ¿Cómo puedes decir eso? ¿cómo puedes decirme eso Mulder, a mí?
Mulder: Porque esto es más grande que tú o yo. Esto es por lo que hemos trabajado durante 9 años. La verdad por la que sacrificamos tanto para descubrir y exponer.
Scully: Bueno, entonces, ¡expónla Mulder! Sube al estrado. Lo que sea que estás escondiendo, toma el estrado y dales con todo.
Mulder: No puedo.
Scully: ¿Por qué?
Mulder: Simplemente no puedo.
Scully: Dices que esto es más grande que nosotros, y quizá lo sea, pero ambos estamos luchando Mulder, no solo tú. Somos tú y yo. Por eso estoy luchando Mulder. Por ti y por mí.

9×19/9×20 The Truth

Mulder dijo hace 6 años que quizá había esperanza, yo no le creí. Me resigné a no verlos nunca más, a que formaran parte de un recuerdo que llevo muy profundo en el corazón por lo que han representado para mí. Cuando me enteré que este bonito par – mi muy particular forma de llamar a Mulder & Scully – regresaba, no lo pude creer, y aquí estamos, a unas cuantas semanas de que se estrene la película. En cierta forma, yo veía a M&S; como mis amigos. En el momento menos esperado, mis amigos regresaron, en una etapa difícil de mi vida, justo cuando los necesitaba. El día de hoy decidí poner esta quote con motivo del rescate de Ingrid Betancourt y 14 secuestrados más en Colombia, es una historia que he seguido, me da mucho gusto que esté llegando a un final feliz, y de manera pacífica, que es lo más positivo de todo esto. Creo que existen los milagros, lo que ocurrió es una prueba de ello. Quizá este mundo sí podría cambiar, no sé si antes del 2012, o en 2036, tal vez algún día tengamos paz. Creo que Mulder tiene razón.

Scully: "What are you thinking? Mulder?"
Mulder: "I’m thinking… I’m a guilty man. I’ve failed in every respect. I deserve the harshest punishment for my crimes."
Scully: "You don’t believe that."
Mulder: "I believe… that I sat in a motel room like this with you when we first met… and I tried to convince you of the truth. And in that respect, I succeeded, but… in every other way… I’ve failed."
Scully: "You don’t believe that, either."
Mulder: "Mm. I’ve been chasing after monsters with a butterfly net. You heard the man — the date’s set. I can’t change that."
Scully: "You wouldn’t tell me. Not because you were afraid or broken… but because you didn’t want to accept defeat."
Mulder: "Well, I was afraid of what knowing would do to you. I was afraid that it would crush… your spirit."
Scully: "Why would I accept defeat? Why would I accept it, if you won’t? Mulder, you say that you’ve failed, but you only fail if you give up. And I know you — you can’t give up. It’s what I saw in you when we first met. It’s what made me follow you… why I’d do it all over again."
Mulder: "And look what it’s gotten you."
Scully: "And what has it gotten you? Not your sister. Nothing that you’ve set out for. But you won’t give up, even now. You’ve always said that you want to believe. But believe in what Mulder? If this is the truth that you’ve been looking for, then what is left to believe in?"
Mulder: "I want to believe that… the dead are not lost to us. That they speak to us… as part of something greater than us — greater than any alien force. And if you and I are powerless now, I want to believe that if we listen, to what’s speaking, it can give us the power to save ourselves."
Scully: "Then we believe the same thing."
Mulder: "Maybe there’s hope."
